September 10 daytime update

• 6:40am Maureen is sound asleep. She is lying on her left side.

• 7:30am Maureen’s diaper is heavily wet. Cleaned and changed to a new diaper. Repositioned Maureen to her right side.

• 8:40am Maureen is now awake and we begin our day. Her diaper is dry. We used the new 3M cleansing spray and barrier cream this morning to great effect. The pressure sore is barely visible now. The two open spots look the same as yesterday.

• 8:51am Administered thyroid medication.

• 8:52am Breakfast time. Maureen enjoyed her usual oatmeal with a banana and drank one cup of water with half a cup of prune juice.

• 9:16am Administered Lisinopril and baby Aspirin followed by a spoonful of honey.

• 9:17am Oral care. No bleeding occurred during the process. Face cream and hand/arm cream followed. Decided to skip eye wash with baby shampoo and eye drops today - Maureen’s eyelashes are clear.

• 10:15am We went for a stroll around the neighborhood. We returned at 11:13am.

• 11:24am We headed to the bathroom. Maureen’s pull-up is medium wet. After 10 minutes, Maureen had a small bowel movement but was still visibly straining to move her bowels. We determined that she needed assistance. Using my pinky and lubricating jelly, I helped Maureen move her bowels. Ultimately, we ended up with a large, formed bowel movement. We went to the recliner afterwards.

• 12:10pm Smoothie time.

• 1:18pm Lunch time. Maureen had half of a corned beef sandwich on rye with butternut squash soup, a bottle of coconut water, and a full cup of water.

• 2:20pm Oral care. No bleeding occurred.

• 3:05pm We headed to the bedroom for a change. Pull-up is medium wet. Cleaned, applied Mupirocin, and put on a fresh pull-up. Headed to the recliner in the front room after.

• 3:30pm Fruit time.
