August 31 daytime update

• 6:35AM - Maureen is awake. Her diaper is dry. She is chatting to herself.

• 7:00AM - Maureen remains awake—stirring lightly.

• 7:40AM - Maureen began to stir lightly. She went back to sleep.

• Our day officially began @ 8:46AM. Maureen was in good form. She was alert and engaged—rather chatty. Her diaper was slightly wet. Djon cleaned her thoroughly with warmed wipes from the purple packet. We put on a new pull up and a fresh pair of shorts.

• Pressure sore update> - Djon applied a small amount of A+D Ointment to the pressure sore. We believe it looks the same as yesterday.

• Breakfast service began @ 9:08AM. Maureen's posture in the geri chair is good—tilting a bit to the lift. We inserted the green wedge pillow and blue My Pillow on her left side to make her almost perfectly upright. Djon administered the thyroid pill prior to feeding Maureen.

• Maureen will consume 1/2 a glass of undiluted prune juice this morning.

• GENERAL OBSERVATIONS @ 9:24AM> - Arms are up high on torso—somewhat tight. Her hands are slightly clenched. Maureen's head/neck are tilted somewhat heavily to the left again this morning—so much so that we decided it would be best to feed her from the left.

• Maureen did not cough a single time during breakfast.

• 9:55AM - Maureen has nodded off on several occasions since we started the day—3 to 5 minute segments.

• 10:20AM - Organic fruit smoothie time.

• 11:08AM - Maureen's pull up was wet. We decided to go to the bathroom. She sat on the commode for 10 minutes. There was no additional activity. Djon cleaned Maureen thoroughly and put a new pull up on her.

• 11:35AM - Since the weather is near perfect, Djon and I decided to take Maureen on a long stroll though the neighborhood. We were out for approximately 40-45 minutes.

• 12:20PM - Lunch Al Fresco - After rerunning from our walk on such a beautiful day, we decided to have lunch outside. Djon prepared 1/2 a turkey sandwich on toasted whole wheat with mayonnaise, 1/2 a bowl of chicken noodle soup and a few brussel sprouts. Maureen also drank a 12 ounce bottle of coconut water. Coughing did not occur during lunch. All included, Maureen was outside for 2 hours. She really seemed to like it.

• 1:30PM - Djon checked the pull up after lunch. No surprise—it was wet. We took Maureen to the bedroom. While lying in bed, Maureen had a very small formed bowel movement. Djon cleaned her throughly. He also applied a small amount of A+D Ointment to the pressure sore on the small of her back. Djon opined that the sore looked the same as it did this morning. We put on a new pull up and placed Maureen in the lift recliner in the front room.
