August 26 daytime update

• 6:35AM - Maureen is awake. Djon checked her diaper. It is slightly wet.

• 7:10AM - Maureen fell back asleep.

• Our day officially began @ 8:18AM. Maureen is for the most part alert and engaged. Her diaper was wet. Djon throughly cleaned her using warmed wipes from the purple packet. The two red spots on her upper buttocks have significantly healed this morning. Djon applied small amounts of Desitin to both of these areas.

• Breakfast service began @ 8:39AM. Djon administered the thyroid pill before started feeding Maureen. Posture in the geri chair is good. She is tilting a bit to the right. We inserted a wedge pillow to make her perfectly upright.

• Maureen will consume 1/2 a cup of undiluted prune juice this morning.

• GENERAL OBSERVATIONS @ 8:49AM - Maureen is a bit lethargic. Her eyes are open but not completely. Arms are relaxed and at her waistline. Hands are not clenched.

• 9:25AM - Djon administered the blood pressure medication and the baby aspirin.

• Coughing during breakfast was not bad. Maureen coughed 4 times.

• 10:28AM - We decided to take Maureen to the bathroom to give her a chance to go before she wet or soiled her pull up. She spent 17minutes on the commode. Her posture was excellent. Maureen urinated a small amount into the toilet—no bowel movement. Her pull up was slightly stained. Djon thoroughly cleaned her and put on a fresh pull up. We then took Maureen to the front room and placed her in the lift recliner.

• 11:43AM - Maureen woke up from a 30-minute nap. She began to fidget in the chair rather aggressively—also uttering a few noises connoting discomfort. Based on our experience yesterday with the impacted stool, we decided to take her to the bathroom. Her pull up was wet. Maureen writhed around a bit on the commode—nowhere near as much as yesterday. She spent approximately 20 minutes on the commode. She did not have a bowel movement but did urinate a good amount into the toilet. Djon cleaned Maureen thoroughly and put a fresh pull up on her.

• 12:15PM - Carolyn and Djon cleaned the gunk off of Maureen's eyelashes.

• 12:30PM - Lunch - Chef Djon prepared a tuna salad sandwich on toasted whole wheat, pea soup with chicken and sweet potatoes with pineapple. Maureen also consumed 1 12 ounce bottle of Harmless Harvest Organic Coconut Water

• GENERAL OBSERVATIONS @ 12:57PM - Maureen has been very alert and engaged for the last 45 minutes. Her eyes are wide open. She is being very chatty while eating lunch.

• 1:35PM - Maureen is enjoying some pieces of peach cut up by Carolyn.

• 2:50PM - Djon checked the pull up. It was slightly wet. We decided to go to the bathroom. Djon thoroughly cleaned Maureen. The red spot on Maureen's right buttock is almost gone; however, the one located at the small of her back/top of the crack is very red. Djon applied a small amount of Desitin on this area. We may have pressure sore developing here. See attached image.
