August 16 daytime update

  • 6:45AM - Maureen is sleeping.

  • 7:15AM - Maureen awoke. I gave her some sips of water via a pink mouth swab periodically until she arose @ 8:00AM.

  • Maureen began her day @ 8:00AM. She is alert and engaged this morning—bit chatty. Congestion is minimal. The diaper is medium wet. Click/tap here to view a detailed overview of the process Djon and I use to get Maureen ready for the day.

  • Djon administered a dose of Flonase @ 8:43AM.

  • Maureen's left eye continues to be red and swollen. It is 75% swollen shut. See the attached image.



  • Breakfast service began @ 8:45AM. Instead of oatmeal, Maureen enjoyed the second half of Chef Sandy's turkey, spinach, mushroom, onion, tomato and mozzarella cheese omelette. Posture in the geri chair is very good. We used the two green wedge pillows and the red couch pillow to set Maureen up perfectly.   • Daily MiraLAX dosage: No MiraLAX or Senna. Maureen will consume 6 ounces of prune juice.

  • After viewing the image of Maureen's left eye, Carolyn directed us to back off of the facial cream for today.

  • 9:22AM - Morning oral care routine

  • 10:21AM - We headed out for a walk. Total distance was .87 of a mile.

  • 10:50AM - Returned to the house.

  • 10:56AM - Saline solution treatment using the nebulizer.

  • 11:05AM - Organic fruit smoothie

  • 11:28AM - We headed to the bedroom to prepare for Rest Break #1. Diaper was heavy wet. Maureen had a small amount of fecal discharge as well. Upon completion of a clean & change, Djon and I place Maureen on her left side.

  • 11:42AM - Rest Break #1 begins.

  • 12:30PM - Rest Break #1 ends. Diaper is medium wet. Djon and I completed a clean & change. We transported Maureen to the kitchen for lunch.

  • 12:42PM - Lunch | Djon prepared a serving of Chesapeake Bay shrimp salad, 1/2 a bowl of homemade lentil soup and a medley of grilled portobello mushrooms and squash. Maureen will drink one 12-ounce bottle of Harmless Harvest Organic Coconut Water during the lunch service.

  • 1:45PM - Afternoon oral care

  • 2;00PM - We headed to the bedroom to prepare for Rest Break #2. Diaper was medium wet. Maureen also had a small amount of fecal discharge. After completing a clean & change, Djon and I placed Maureen on her left side.

  • 2:12PM - Rest Break #2 begins.

  • 3:07PM - Rest Break #2 concludes. Diaper was medium wet. Maureen had a small soft bowel movement. Djon and I cleaned and change Maureen. We then transported her to the front room for the remainder of the

  • 3:25PM - Afternoon fruit snack.
