April 12 daytime update

• 6:40AM - Maureen is sleeping

• 7:10AM - She is beginning to gently stir—moving her legs slightly.

• Day began at 8:05. Maureen’s diaper was wet. Maya throughly cleaned and placed a new pull up on Maureen.

• We noted that same type of gunk/build up primarily on the loose tooth but also on the tooth immediately to the left of it. Maya tried to capture a sample using a moist paper towel. She was not successful. The gunk disappeared by the end of breakfast before Maya had a chance to brush Maureen’s teeth.

• Maya transferred Maureen from the bed to the day chair using the Hoyer lift without assistance from Brian. This process took approximately 10 minutes.

• 8:30AM - Maureen’s overall demeanor is fair this morning. She does not have a tremendous amount of energy—not taking or smiling much. Maya had to insert a green wedge pillow into the day chair almost immediately as Maureen began to list to the left.

• Nasal congestion is fairly significant. We will give Maureen a dose of Flonase into each nostril.

• We gave Maureen 1/2 glass of prune juice.

• Morning meds administered at 8:43AM.

• 10:15 - Maureen is leaning to the left and is somewhat slumped over in the day chair. She communicates very little. Energy remains very low. She is not able to do much with the ball and the cup with Maya.

• For the second time this morning, Maureen held a drink of water in her mouth without swallowing it. 10:20 - Fruit smoothie time

• 11:05AM - Headed to the bathroom. Maureen had a very small firm bowel movement in the toilet. She also urinated a large amount in the toilet. It was cloudy.

• 12:55PM - Lunch. She is sitting up nicely in the day chair without assistance.

• 1:10PM - Maureen began tilting to the left. Maya inserted a green wedge pillow.

• Maureen is being a bit more engaged and responsive this afternoon during lunch.

• 2:00PM - Bathroom stop: Pull up was wet. Maureen did not go in toilet. Maya changed and cleaned her.
